My Dumb Question for The Day!
Howdy all,
How do I remove the trim piece above the glove box on my '82 K30 with A/C? I hope I don't have to pull the dash pad...... TIA, Scott |

Re: My Dumb Question for The Day!
exactly but the pad isn't hard to remove.
it has one phillips screw in the side where the door open on the passenger side. I think 4-6 7mm screws on the bottom of the pad between that trim piece and the metal dash, and then you need to remove the top 4 phillips head screws from the part around the guages, and I usually remove the ones down both sides of it too. Just a tip though, it makes it alot eaiser to remove and install if you take the guage bezel(part around the guages off) Just remove the radio knobs and nuts if you have the old am/fm like stock, or slide your cd player out, unplug the antenna and speakers wires, power and ground wires, remove 4 screws that are 2 on both sides of the steerin column, they hold that lower column cover on, take it off, remove any remaining screws from the bezel around the guages if any you left from before, and it should slide on out. if it has the duct over the heater controls/ vent over the controls, that is sometimes hard to workout of there. Once remove lift up on the pad, and slide towards you, should slide out easy. Then remove the panel nuts from the back of that trim piece, at least 6 I think on it. I used to know what size they are but now i forget, 7/16 or 1/2 or somewhere in that area I think.
