Air Ride

Guys what kits are yall buying for yalls truck or are you piecing them together? I am looking to go ahead and purchase mine for the Blazer and wanted some ideas

go to suicidedoors.. they have everything listed for our trucks, i'm running slam re7's all the way around, you can get the bolt in plate for the front, and the rear... im actually not sure on the blazer, but they have everything you need

I havent priced everything out yet but it seems to me you can get better deals on EBay piecing a system together. Like dual 380's are about $15.00 cheaper shipped then SD's price w/o shipping.

Well guys the air ride is handled....I bought RE7 bags all the way around, all the lines, fittings, 6 valves brackets, dual Viair 380's and the Digital Air management system today. The only thing I didnt buy was the tank or tanks cause im not sure on where I should mount them and the room availible under the blazer...Once I get the tub off I will purchase my tank or tanks......I feel i did good on the price...Jerid at Suicide was good to deal with...I picked up the compressors off of ebay...

Blazers are the same as the trucks up front and you can our standard upper mounting plate, RE7 airbags, and a lower cup as shown below. You can also install a set of drop spindles to help the truck get down even lower.


In the rear you can choose from several different options. We do make a notch for the 67-72 trucks that is contoured to match the bends in the frame. We also offer a weld-on parallel or trianulated 4 link kits that you could use and you can run the bags off the axle. Or you can buy our 73-87 cantilever attachment and weld it onto the rear frame rails. The cantilever system would locate the shocks and bags for you and allow upto 12 inches of travel. Here's some images of a Blazer I did with some of the components listed above.

Kp has some nice stuff. my friend has an 01 fullsize with the 6 link and that thing is sweet. brackets for the front can be bought from suicideddoors.com those with some re-7' and you will lay on the control arms. if you want to spend some money, buy the porterbuilt crossmember with airide arms. for the rear...... i unnno. i wouldnt want to hack up a blazer. you may want to run the behind and under kit from sd with a parallel 4 link and sleeve bags or re-8's. you have leafs in the rear???

im not using cups but i would certainly get more lift if i did. and my bags are not all the way compressed when im layed out.

Most definatley need lower cups other wise the bag is just floating in the lower coil spring pocket, which will cause it to fail down the road. You can run tubular upper and lower control arms which will allow the truck to get down lower then if it has stock arms.



With lower control arms, spindles, and the upper plate you should lay front crossmember like a champ, even on 22's like these trucks.





If you installed the Porterbuilt dropmember then you can take it even lower to the pavement and use either factory or tubular control arms. Stay tuned as we build a C10 with all these products and put the rockers on the ground.

Hyde, I was wondering what size valves, lines, compressors, and tanks you are going to to run. I have RE 7's all the way around, and was think 2, 5 gallon tanks, 2 Viair 480C's. I plan on running 3/8 line and Valves, but have no idea which kind to run. If anyone can suggestion what valves they like, please say.

bad idea. im rubbing now. i bought lower plates from suicidedoors. we are gonna get some tubing to make cups for the bottom which sucks cause i dont lay anymore after i went to a 29" tall tire. but i dont have spindle and im only about an inch from the ground. that porterbuilt piece looks like its well worth the money so you may want to look into it.

I'm still a noob with air rides but does someone who just wants a nice air ride need 2 480's for a 1/2?

Who makes the upper/lower control arms in this picture? I searched your online store, but could not find them.

Those control arms shown above are the ART upper and lower arms that were taken apart and paint body color to match the vehicle. They worked out nicely on the truck, especially once they were painted and installed to compliment the rest of the suspension.

You'll still need to run an upper mount to locate the bag, but the lower doesn't require a cup since the bag bolts directly to the lower control arm.

Two 5 gallon tanks would be the right amount of air for your truck. Now when it comes to compressors and valves there are plenty to choose from. If you're not looking for a super quick speed then you can run a 3/8" setup and use the Viair 400C compressors. They're the fastest filling compressors out and the most affordable. I'd suggest running (2) 5 gallon tanks, (8) 3/8" GC valves, 3/8 hose and fittings, and (1) 400C Dual Compressor Combo Pack. That pack comes with (2) compressors, pressure switch, and the relays.

That system would be very responsive, sufficent air supply onboard, and the air recovery time would be extremely quick. The system would be moderatly priced, especially when compaired to a 480 compressor system.
