1972 Frame under a 65?????
I've got a 65 c10 SWB that is completly stripped and have a friend of mine that has a 72 C10 SWB that is already powder coated. I just got another 72 C10 LWB frame that has PS and 5 lug front disc brakes. I just finished stripping the junk frame of everything including front suspension crossmember. From all the measurements that I've taken (cab mounts forward) everything is the same except the rear axle is 1.5" wider. It seems that it will be easier to mount the PS on the 72 frame since it came with it. I don't have to use the PS gearbox adapter plate like I would on the 65. Is there anything that I'm missing.
Thanks Alan |

my 60 c10 is sitting on a mid 70's blazer c10 frame. it is possible, but you may have to drill new holes in the cab

Re: 1972 Frame under a 65?????
Thanks for the resposes. I answered my own question today. I was able to lay the 72 frame on the 65 and get a better comparision. The rear cab mounts and core support mounts are different. Plus frame horns like someone else had mentioned are different. I guess I will just use the original 65 frame. I've got enough work todo without creating more.
Thanks Alan |
