remove headlight bucket from grill

Any special technique in removing the headlight buckets from my old grill to put into my new one? Just drill out the rivets? What about attaching it to the new one? simple nut and bolt will do the job?

Thanks!

Re: remove headlight bucket from grill

I just ground off the heads of the rivets on mine to get the buckets out of the old grill. Haven't put it back together yet but am planning on using nuts/bolts/lockwashers

Re: remove headlight bucket from grill

Thanks guys. I might be able to borrow a hand rivet gun from work. But I actually trust a nut, bolt, and lock washer more! It just might be hard to get in some of those places to hold/remove the nut.

Re: remove headlight bucket from grill

what kind of rivets were used? The ones we have here are big on one end, but the other end seems to narrow?

Im using a marow big daddy manual riveter with Klik-Fast Rivets (3/16" Diam Large Flange, Grip range 1/4"-3/8")
