My truck has been running great lately but the other night when I was putting an inline fuel filter on it and check/add oil., I started the truck and hear this sqeeking noise comming from around the fan blade. I tried belt dressing but still there and it is quite loud when in idle. I was wondering if I just got oil on the belt or is there a grease fitting or bearing down there that can correct the problem. It's a 250 6 cylinder. Any one else have this happen?

It seems as though if you get a little anti-freeze on your belts, they get glazed and make a racket that won't go away. Belt dressing doesn't seem to help any. To verify this situation, spray a little W-D40 or similiar product (you can also rub a bar of soap on them) on to the belts and run it again , if the noise temperarily goes away, the only thing I have found to eliminate the noise is to replace the belts, clean the pulleys and keep anti-freeze away from them. That's my 2 cents.
