dynamat or spray on sound deadener/insulator?

Thinking about using one or the other, would like some input please. And also, would the spray on type be sandable and paintable? Trying to stop this cali heat from getting to me, since my truck doesn't have a/c, yet!

i far prefer the liquid ceramic stuff like lizard skin its either brushable or sprayable alot better results sprayed and its sandable and paintable its also water based for very easy cleanup after application

I used Lizard Skin inside the cab and under the cab. I plan on using Dynamat on the inside when I get to that point.

Truck is not finished so I can't say how it works. Lizard skin was easy to use, I sprayed it on.

I used Dynamat Xtreme in my '47. It is by far the best thing I have ever done to the truck. Look up M&M Hot Rod Interiors. They retail it. Tell Wayne or Pam Josh Kaylor sent you, they will give you a fair price!

Re: dynamat or spray on sound deadener/insulator?

I sprayed the Lizard skin ceramic heat barrier then the Lizard skin sound barrier on all surfaces inside the cab, then 1 layer of "second skin" extreme on the floor. Gotta say that it was well worth it. in the thread below are some pics of the application

Re: dynamat or spray on sound deadener/insulator?

Dynamat is rather overpriced. I would strongly suggest Raamat. I used their products on my `03 Sierra and will eventually use them on my `68 when that time comes. Best bang for the buck.

RAAMmat - http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi

Or if you want to spend more, then I've heard good things about Second Skin... http://www.secondskinaudio.com/

Very useful info here... http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

That is what I will be using as well when the time comes for it in the restoration. I am going to use RAAMat throughout the inside and then use the SecondSkin products Spectrum firewall and Heatwave Pro to help assist with the heat and noise reduction upfront.

I used dynamat and it was easy to use and worked well.Just be careful of the foil backing because its razor sharp. Chris

Re: dynamat or spray on sound deadener/insulator?

I'm planning on using a spray on deadener on the inside and underside of my cab and dynamat pads on the inside.
