So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
I've been reading about swaping in a blazer/suburban tank into my 69 swb. I picked one up today for free, got excited but looks like it is way too big. Are they different? It came from a 87 sub with fuel injection.

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
Yes it would. I just looked them up, I beleive it is a 40 gallon tank. 33" long x 27 wide. 12" tall. It is just too long for the swb. the width would be perfect.

I think only a 67-72 suburban/blazer tank will fit a 67-72 not the 73-up not for sure though

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
thats exactly what i put in myshortened k 20. it will work with determination on a leaf sprung truck, but i don't think it will fit a short coil sprung truck no matter how determined you are with out relocating the panhard bar. i was able to even squeeze a 86 blazer skid plate around mine by fabing my hangers to replace the rear frame crossmembers

suburban tanks only fit in a LWB. For aa SWB truck you will need a blazer tank. Done both, so I know they work.

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
Been looking at the tanks on parts america. The blazer and suburban both use the same tank up up to 33 gallons. Then suburban has a 40gal. Which is what I got. I guess I'll look for the 25 gal.
I looked for the the 25 on that surplus website and could not find them. I think everyone bought them up already. |

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
87 blazer and suburban had EFI, this is the same tank I will be using. I priced evrything out on Parts america, and it came to be under 300 for the Pump, screen, sending unit, and tank. Not bad if you ask me. Just a pump will run you $150 or so that mounts to the frame rail.

I was under the impression that all the blazer tanks were the same, that the difference was in the sending unit... Forsale - Yeah, it looks like you are right... I knew i should've ordered two or three

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
I have a '73 Suburban tank in my SWB. I just rotated the filler tube 90* to the ds. You can see the details on my build thread. I think it's about 25 gal. but I know it's at least 21- I'm just scared to find out the hard way.

Re: So I guess The suburban tanks don't Fit?
YOu guys need to check out Raybucks......... Believe thats how ya spell it. They have all years tanks and all the stuff that goes with them. The tanks changed in I believe 87. The newer tanks have a pan built into them for the pump to sit in. A older sending unit will not work in those new tanks.
