Custom doors for 72
Winter is time to Trick out my doors. Shave handels/power windows/remote door poppers/and sporty mirows/as well as custom speaker enclosurs-door panels
Hopefully members can help with pics and links to these products this will make restoring a little easy'r The mirrows are something I havent seen yet I was thinking of sheetmetal off the wing glass as I have AC and mount mirrow with streamline look Got any ideas? The factory unlock would tie in to door release for a mechanical open should fuse blow. If you have seen cool custom doorpanels please post picks I prefer to make my own just looking for idea's to work with. step side bed has wood floor so sheets of paneling would be a start. Im looking forward to lots of pic's and imput Thanks P.S. Haven't started my project build yet but soon to come! Here is the Truck im working on

Re: Custom doors for 72
WOW! Are you really going to extend the cab and cut the bed short? That's going to give you some very odd looking proportions.

Re: Custom doors for 72
I hear the word Good luck mentioned well we all know it's not luck its hard work but to have a one of a kind does have its rewards!
The bed has already been shorten and cab extention has started I feel the extra cab space will be well worth the work and I plan on showing someware down the road. I expect to finish the body work in 2008 and prime while i work on the Hydrolics and tilt front end It runs a stock 350 with R4 overdrive as soon as speedo and trans electrical is compleated. For those who doubt this project check out the 57 chevy link at my signature it only take imagination and hard work Still looking for those pics of custom mirrows

Re: Custom doors for 72
I think it would look great with the 67-70 style mirrors with a round head.
The bed came out great! I'd like to offer up a suggestion on the cab. Since you're doing a ton of work anyway, I'd recommend using suburban doors and squaring off the area at the top back corner of the door. This would look MUCH better with your square back window.

Re: Custom doors for 72
Bed looks good. The art work left me wondering at first on the look, but seeing the metal start to come together is making me very interested in this build.
I do agree with the above and maybe using the Suburban doors will help clean it up. But carry on, this is going to be a neat one to watch!!

Re: Custom doors for 72
Why not go with the one piece window kit to do away with the vent window rather than fill it in?

Re: Custom doors for 72
Thanks for the reply guys The windows I was considering were from 2002 S10 rear quarter glass because the frame around the window curves in over the roof line where I could graft in mainly I like the pop out feature and all 4 corners are Round
I have only been playing with the paint job with photo shop Im a long ways from paint. Some times its best to try on a lot of shoue untill you find what fits best Im gearing up to start a thread in projects and builds on this truck I have been working on it all of 2007 and have lots of build pics to organize any sugestions on setting up that Thread I havent done one before and would like to keep it interesting and well organized Hope to have assembeled and primed by fall and start Hydrolics before the paint gets squirted
