i wanting to put power door locks on my 66 truck and im wondering how this will work with a truck that wasnt designed to have power locks, will you be able to use the handle lock as well as the remote? details on this would be awesome

Just use a linear actuator to operate the door locks. Everything else works the same.

There was an article in Custom Classic Trucks that showed you step by step how to put in remote door locks. It is not a quick easy thing to do but it can be done. YOu can order back issues I believe.. April 2001 was the issue and I have also seen links to it on the net. If I see it I will post it for you..

Guys,

the link below seems to not exist, does someone have update or more info? I am under the impression that the 60-66 CANNOT have power door lock, is this correct?

Something hapened to the sight. Maybe one day we will meet up Steve and I can show you the article. Or I can look in the mag and tell you the year and month and you can order one but I think if you go to the Classic truck magazine site you can pull it up somehow. I think it is www.customclassictrucks.com but I could be wrong.

Forgot to mention that you can put remote door locks in. It is a pain in the butt but it can be done. April 2001 in is the issue that does a step by step for the remote door locks.
