Tire/wheel size

Hey guys i have a 68 LWB with everything stock and i am switching to 5 lug and need new wheels. I am going to runs 15's but would really like to know how wide i can squeeze into the stock rear wheel wells. backspacing? tire size? any help is much appreciated/needed. Thanks

Depends on which rearend you are using. 63-70 with different 5-lug axles or the wider 71-72 5-lug rearend. This will affect you backspacing measurement.

I ran this set up on my 1972 rear end...........

Front: 15X8 4.0 BS 245/60 15

Rear: 15X10 5.0 BS 295/50/15

I have a '69 6-lug rearend that measures 55.5" from backing plate to backing plate.

The 71-72 are 3/4" (per side) wider.

So that would make the 71-72 rearends 57" from backing plate to backing plate.

I fit 13.5 inch wide slicks on mine, but wasn't low enough to tuck
