plastic gas tank
I Pulled My Gas Tank Off And It Had Quite A Bit Of Rust In It. Most Of The Places I`ve Been Looking For A Replacement Are Metal Has Anyone Seen A Replacement Thats Plastic.

Re: plastic gas tank
Yup, there is a Polyethelane (sp?) tank made that is a direct replacement. You do have to extend the filler hose because the neck on the poly tank is much shorted than the metal one.
What I did was cut off the metal filler neck, then cut the rubber filler hose in half and put the metal neck into the rubber hose to make it longer. I think I got mine from brotherstrucks.com I don't have the tank anymore as I upgraded to a 37gal tank from North West Metal Products. I ran the plastic one for about 2yrs and the only problem I had was the sending unit's rubber seal or O-ring would let gas out when I filled the tank to the top, gas would drip out the top until the level droped..a new o-ring probly would have fixed that.... Good Luck Burt

Re: plastic gas tank
I have on in my Burb (same as Blazer) and I had the same leak. I fixed it by bending the tabs on the lock ring down a little bit to provide more sealing pressure. Otherwise no issues.

Re: plastic gas tank
I have the plastic tank also and same leak here. Seems ok if I stop filling after the nozzle cut off but if I try to top it off then it leaks.
