Monster Tach?

im thinking about taking the old tach off my column, and buy like a 5 inch monster with a shift light.

what i need to know is where have you guys mounted them...

and pictures would be really great!

...i think it might sorta ruin the very "stock" look of my truck.

Re: Monster Tach?

Alot of guys just run the screws through the dashpad into the steel below it. It will definately ruin your stock look. IMO

Re: Monster Tach?

I don't have a dash pad on mine, so I put one screw through one of the holes for the pad & then put a screw & toggle through one of the oval holes in the dash

So no drilling

Re: Monster Tach?

On mine I used one of the screws that hold in the air controls on the bottom side of the dash. That way I didn't have to drill my dash, plus with a huge tach it can be distracting up high. I can catch the shift light from my peripheral vision. .

Re: Monster Tach?

ok heres the pic. also on my tach the shift light is removable and has extra length of wire so I could still mount it up high if I wanted.

Re: Monster Tach?

1fun71, i think i like you placement the best.

if its not too much trouble, could you get a picture further out so i can see more of the cab?

that way ill get a feel for how much it stands out...

bob, your placement it cool too, probably the least noticeable.

how do you read the fuel gauge though

i like you saying too aha "spin it till she quits pulling"

Re: Monster Tach?

no one likes the placement of mine? haha i kinda like it. it gives it the racy look i guess, people see it and assume the best

my girlfriend doesnt like it because it gets in her way, but it doesnt get in mine(her is partly cause of my bucket seats that SAG).

I was hoping to get a better response though. i dont think they were clear enough, im gonna take some better pics of them without the sun all in the picture.
