DJM flip kit?
Does anyone here have a flip kit on their leaf spring truck, or specifically a DJM kit? The reason I ask is I purchased this kit, and it has all the parts that I need by the looks of it, but it didn't come with any real instructions or anything. It came with a photocopied instruction sheet that I'm pretty sure is for the wrong vehicle.... Any helpful tips, tricks or pics would be great. Thanks!

Re: DJM flip kit?
I purchased the same djm kit about a month ago but i havent installed it yet. It looks fairly simple though. You have the peice that goes on your old spring pad and then the piece that goes on the opposite side of the axle tube as your new spring pad and then the bolts go through the two to keep everything in place.

Re: DJM flip kit?
I just put one on my 72, and it it was very simple. the flat plate with the gusset on top can adjust your pinion angle. took about 1 hr. and 20 mins.

Re: DJM flip kit?
My kit has 3 main pieces per side. I have the two pieces that Corn shows in his picture (the large bottom plate and the piece between the axle and spring) , plus a piece that is a flat piece of metal with a pin sticking out one side and a 1/2" moon piece welded to the other side. Where does that go? On top I assume, but am not 100%. Also, how should the pinion angle be adjusted?

How did you adjust your pinion angle?
How much lower? Before and after pics? Install pics for the rest of us? DLB Last edited by Orange; 02-14-2008 at 10:53 PM. |

Re: DJM flip kit?
I just adjusted the pinion angle so it looked similar to before I flipped it, pretty much flat. I'd say it went down 5 1/2" or so, give or take. I have a couple pictures I'll be posting in my build thread this week, including some with the bed on, etc.
