Air Ride - Compressor and Tank Location Help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Could I get some pics/ideas on where some of you may be mounting your air ride components: solenoid block, tank, compressor.

I've seen them mounted in the following locations:

- installed in the back underneath the bed (spare tire area)

- along the frame just behind the cab

- in the cab (tank and compressor)

- in the bed

- under the hood (compressor)

It's an open slate... I recently saw a truck that had the tank towards the rear (spare tire area), along with the compressor, and had the valves mounted just behind the cab on the passenger's side. There was a truck at a car show 2 years ago that had everything mounted on the outside of the frame rails.

Good stuff, thanks shifty. I believe I'll go the same route as rokcrln, both bolted to the right or left frame rail. Solenoid and ECU may go behind the seat (not sure yet). My fuel tank will be mounted in the rear of the truck, so that eliminates that setup...although the post by n2trux is pretty sweet.

Just a note, I'll be using Air Rides RidePro e2 kit (one 3gal tank).

I suggest you get the compressor as far away from the cab as possible. No matter what brand you use, those suckers are LOUD!
