Questions about Hood
Ok, I have question about the under hood supports. Should I spot weld them to help strengthing the center of the hood. Arrows pointing the area in mention. This hood is on a 64 GMC SWB.
Also have an alignment issue, with the hood closed, the center of the hood sits about a 1/2" below the hood cowl where the wiper arms are. See my photo editing skills with MS Paint with the arrows pointing to the area. Any suggestions or ideas? Pics are provided. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Mike

Re: Questions about Hood
No. don't spot weld them. They make pads that go between the brace and the hood. they control hood vibration and adds strength.

Re: Questions about Hood
From the second picture, looks like he needs to loosed the bolts that hold the hinge to the inner fender and lift them up. That sets the HEIGHT of the hood to the cowl panel.
As for the supports, don't spot weld them. Get the sponge rubber cushions for them....

The second pic doesn't have the hood all the way shut, but when it is shut and the hinges are lifted up still have that 1/2" height difference. The only thing I didn't adjust was the hood stops closest to the cab, dunno if that will help close the gap any. Any other suggestions or recommendations. Thanks
