Re: What does this paint code mean??
not sure, but i'd guess high solids means theres not much metal flake or pearl in the paint, and i know the WA is in alot of gm paint codes
whay are you trying to find out about it? you might be better off calling a local automotive paint store they can usually decipher paint codes pretty easily |

Re: What does this paint code mean??
Sounds like the truck may have been a factory two-tone being the two codes. As for the high solids enamel it pretty much just means it was a low VOC(less solvent, more actual pigment) single stage formula

Re: What does this paint code mean??
Hey, I run a body shop up in Ottawa, Canada and the high solids means high solids wire enamel having a surprisingly low viscosity. The enamel comprises a mixture of high molecular weight and low molecular weight linear hydroxy polyethers, a phenolic resin, an isocyanate and possibly a melamine. The resulting enamel has excellent flexibility and resistance to crazing. And as for the paint code WA-L8798 U9222 means the WA satands for General Motors and the 9222 is the actually colour code.
