starter wiring.

I searched and can't find it.......................I have a MSD ignition and i am not using the distributor /coil yellow wire........so the only wire going to the solenoid is the purple wire... which terminal does it hook up to?

I remember seeing a picture of this once here.
Thanks

Re: starter wiring.

when looking at it from the front of the truck it goes to the small terminal on the drivers side; the side closest to the block.

Re: starter wiring.

If you run headers now would be a good time to wire in a remote solenoid.

That subject came up downtown where I took the starter for rebuild...............I wanted them to reconfigure it for the high torque big block style that everyone does for more cranking power..............the guy said no need . My starter is the "truck" model that has the 4 shoes rather than 2.

I asked about remote solenoid and they said no need.............they rebuilt it with a heavy duty solenoid that they say will take care of the problem. If it don'[t work than I will do the remote thing.

Re: starter wiring.

The terminal that has an S is for start. I have seen them backwards... so you shouldn't go by the "left side post/right side post" references.

Re: starter wiring.

So the "R" on there i think I see is for the return wire to dist. (not used with my MSD)
Hook my purple to "S" and call it done?
