Suggestions for a bed mat that fits my 72
Hi,
I have been surfing the web trying to purchase a bet mat that fits my 1972 Chevy K20 with the 8ft fleet side box. Seems like all the aftermarket stuff ends at 73. Does anyone know if the 73 year fits my 72 or can anyone suggest a place to buy a custom fitted one for the 72 model? I need to cover up my dented floor! Bud |

I'm not sure why one from a '73 wouldn't fit your truck. Maybe someone can shed some light on the subject for me.

I think you can get the hard plastic bed liners from JC Whitney. Too bad you aren't closer. I actually have a hard plastic bedliner that I am trying to sell locally. I'm not sure if it fits any year long bed Chevy pickup though.

Re: Suggestions for a bed mat that fits my 72
I used a plastic bedliner out of a 73+ Chevy in a 72 that I had and it fit great. I would imagine that a floor mat would be the same as well. I have a rubber mat in my 72 longbed, but it was in there when I bought the truck.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I still have the hard plastic liner that came with the truck. I don’t like the hard plastic liners (too slippery for my tastes). I tried searching for box dimensions as well. I kinda figured the 73 would fit but I was hoping someone else could confirm it for me.

A 73-up bed mat fits just fine, that's what I have in mine.

Walmart sells a universal cut to fit one.

The 73 up fit perfect except the front of the wheel well cutout is a couple of inches longer.

You could make your own. I worked in a belting plant & we had belt upto 8' wide. Take your measurements to your local conveyorbelt shop & get a piece. You can get it in 2, 4, 6 or 8 ply.

My bedmat says for 67-87. I bought it at Pep Boys 6 years ago. JC Whitney sells them also. Here's a great deal I have posted in the past for $24.95 plus another $36 or so for shipping!:http://store.colemans.com/cart/index...r_of_uploads=0
