New Chassis for the 65

Here is the stripped down new home for the 65 shop truck. Wally world moved to a new location and lost my photos. They called me the other day and said they found them at the new store. Here are the pics a few of you asked to see. It is an 84 g30 chassis with PS/PB/ A/C and 49,000 original miles. I will cut the ends off the radaitor support and weld the ends off the 65 support on to it and work back from there. Please excuse the mess. I stripped it next to my steel pile to save time double moving everything. Jerry

1ton cube van had a 14ft box on it. The cab part was welded to the frame, but an air hammer 3 knuckles and a lot of cussing got it off the frame. Jerry

Good luck with the project!

Re: New Chassis for the 65

I used a 1ton box van chassis and put a 79 chev cab and flatbed on about 10 years ago my biggest problem was conecting the gearbox to the column. If i remember right we used the 79 chev gearbox and heated and turned the end that hooked to the pitman arm. Good luck.
