Re: what's a cab wiegh
safest way, find 3-4 guys to help, that way you don't drop it... I had to wait a few days, but I found some guys that came through.
I think without the glass even as little as 3 total could lift it. |

Re: what's a cab wiegh
I made this for taking off cabs and beds. Cost me about 75.00 with the wheels. I bought the steel at the steel yard in the seconds section for .15 cents a pound. Spent about 6 hours building it. We now have a 2ton chainfall on it, and NO MORE LIFTING FOR ME!!!!

Re: what's a cab wiegh
four guys can do it no problem and three probably could also. i wouldnt advise using a lift becuase it is easy to damage it that way

I will have to disagree.....I have pulled about 10 beds and 3 cabs since building this with NO damage to any. I use the chainfall, but with 3 inch wide nylon towstraps in an X pattern hooking the chainfall at the X to prevent any damage. Jerry |

i pulled a cab years ago using a A-frame with a landscaping timber through the window openings and attached strap around the timber on each side then attached to a come-a-long to the A-frame. i left the doors on and the seat and every thing else in it. worked well. i was swapping it from a lwb to a swb frame.

Re: what's a cab wiegh
I have run the straps around the pillars in an X pattern. Glass was out on all 3 cabs. For beds, I use the rubber grommet eyebolt bed holdowns in the stake pockets, adjust them tight and attach some 2 inch straps in an X pattern to the eyebolts. I have had good luck with this method as well. The 4X4's would work good witha cab with glass, I'll keep it in mind. Usually if I am going that far with a customer's the glass comes out early. Jerry

Re: what's a cab wiegh
My bro-in-law built himself a cab remover/replacer. In the pic it's using ratchet strap tie-downs, but it was originally made to use with come-alongs...which have since broke... scary, but it works...
