Re: Even though im the black sheep .
Those should be a big improvement. Now add some more cage and an antiroll bar!

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
Looks good! You'll like the Cal-tracs! Did you change the rear shocks also? I ran a set of Cal-tracs on a Nova I used to have, and I had to use a REAL stiff rear shock, as the bars would separate the rear suspension violently with a cheapo drag shock. John Calvert should be able to give you some suggestions on a shock for your truck, if you don't already have some.
Good luck with it!

Hey ripdog28 , those are a set of led style mid 80's gauges . But im 38 # light right now and a CB , sorry some times i stray . Now add some more cage and an antiroll bar! DJracer , I have enough bar to certify to 8.50 I think . If i can pull a 6.20 out of the hat , i'll own this local drag radial class . It has been 6.74 on a 150 shot. So for a bolt on with stock suspension and a 355 it is doing o.k. I am spraying an 82 jet now . It twisted the driverside axle 2 splines already . OH! and it leaves pretty straight now . I'll be out friday and try and get some pics . I am running Calvert leafs and bars . Bad thing is I gave them all the measurements and they didn't fit very well . I had about 2 days worth of mods and machine work . We have a machine shop @ work and you would be surprised what a gift certificate to CHili's resturant will get you machined . I have been talking to a guy named travis . I had to wait for him to come off vacation a week to have these built . Never talked to John . I have adjustable drag shocks I modified from a Camaro , as nobody makes anything for a Luv . I am putting Strange 35 splines in it along with a 396 SBC and either a powerglide or a th350 with a transbrake . This class is running in the loe 7's in the 1/8 with me in the 6's breaking stuff . I think it will be in the 6.60's next time out August 23 .

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
The powerglide would most likely be quicker! You might also look at moser axles. I ran them in my old camaro with a short tire then cut them down when I back halfed the car and the same axles are in the car today. I also have moser in the truck!

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
I'm surprised that you had to do that much work to get those parts to fit. I realize that a Luv isn't a common application, but with giving them some measurements to go off of, I would've thought that they would have fit better than that.
You shouldn't have any trouble with 35 splines in it. I'm with DJ, though; you may want to look at Moser stuff. I run their 30 spline axles and spool in my truck and haven't had any trouble with them. Going from a 355 to a 396 ought to really wake the truck up, as well. Good luck with it all!!

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
I have Moser stuff as well, Mark Williams also makes good stuff as well but they're more money.

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
I'm going to threepeat the Moser and MW axle suggestion. I twisted/sheared 3 strange axles before I woke up and bought the 'right' stuff. You can't go wrong with Moser. If you twist a Moser,,, MW is the next logical step but damn are they pricey!

Re: Even though im the black sheep .
I took the truck out last night and made some motor passes and adjusted the caltracs out . These things work really well . I went to make a couple of nitrous passes and had some troubles . The first pass (left lane) blew the tires off at the hit . 1.78 60' . Second pass bent the throttle bracket @the hit . Got out 60' and managed to get the activation switch until about 850' out and the cable snapped off from being in a bind . 11.44 . Learned alot .
