converting Mechanical speedometer into electrical????

I was wanting to buy new guages for my truck. I want to get a new speedometer and was wondering if this device would work.

From what I can tell you hook this up to your cable and then hook an electrical guage to it. Am I seeing this right? This way my gauge wont be off like it is now. What do you think?

This mounts to your tranny where the speedo cable comes out.
You can eliminate the speedo cable or reuse it (The red cap comes off) to run your cruise control if you have it.Make sure you get a gauge that uses 16 pulses per revolution.

Re: converting Mechanical speedometer into electrical????

I'm just worried about my guages being off. If I buy this gizmo and remove the cable will it allow me to adjust my speedometer at free will. In case I change wheels, rearend, etc?

For instance when I go 65mph it says 85mph. If I get the gear I need to make the cable work I will probably have to change it again when I get new wheels because they wont be the same size as my old ones.

Thanks for your help!
