Question Aux Battery Tray, Does this look right? 73-80

So I just got this in the mail today. I'm not jumping to any conclusions so I'm looking for others input on this. I just don't see how these parts go together, at-least not without modifications.

Here's what I ordered for my 76:

there are several holes in the tray so I'm not sure which one is what but I ran through a couple of iterations. In this picture if I line up the small hole (circled) in the tray bottom with the small hole in the support the battery hold down has to be towards the firewall. When configured like this the battery tray sits flat on the support and "appears" to be the best way to use it except this means there is only one connection between the battery tray and the support.

Now if I flip the tray around so the hold down bolt is towards the rad support it looks like the tray would use the two small holes on the side to attach to the support via the two small holes in the side of it. Unfortunately there are several things wrong with that scenario. First shown here, if the tray is laid flat for maximum support from the support piece the holes do not line up at all as shown here.

If the tray is angled up to line up the 4 small holes then two things occur. The first is only one set of holes will line up.

The second thing is there ends up being a big gap between the tray and the support.

Anyone have any input on how these suckers go together? Maybe i'm all sorts of off and the tray should be welded together. Or maybe I'm yet another victim of crappy Taiwanese re-pop junk (didn't know it was repops until after I received them :-/) and I just have to "make it fit".

Try this out to see if it helps... Terry

Notice the tray itself is universal to either side, it's the same part number for both applications.

Gracias. After going through the pictures I figured I answered my own question but it never hurts to ask.
