Rotor size

Outside of pulling the wheel, is there any way to judge by VIN etc. whether my truck has 1" or 1.25" rotors? Getting ready to order spindles, but was wondering if I'd be best to wait and measure or just go for it (was thinking 1") I have a 84 C10 Shortbed Silverado 305, thanks in advance!

Re: Rotor size

Save yourself some headache's, pull the wheel/tire off and measure the rotor thickness. I've got a 6 cyl truck with 1 1/4 rotor's, so you never know untill you check!!

Re: Rotor size

For pickups:
73-80 = 1.25" no exceptions
81-87 you will need to check the glovebox for the option or pull it off and measure it.

Re: Rotor size

Thanks for the replies, what in the glovebox would I look for to indicate rotor size?

Re: Rotor size

The RPO sheet would have it listed and it is in the glovebox. If it is missing, you have to measure it, the only thing in the VIN that would indicate it is if it was a Heavy Half. But any gas truck could get it, all diesels had it (or all I have seen)

Re: Rotor size

Thanks, I did take a quick look at the option list in the glove box, but it doesn't list anything specific about rotor size, is there a particular package etc. I'm looking for?
