My 76 fleetside rebuild

Here is my 1976 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Deluxe. I bought her five months ago for 500 dollars. She is 2wd with a 4 barrel 350, 400 Turbo trans, 307 rear end. I was in rough shape when i got it it needed new fenders, rockers, and some hood and minor patch stuff....

Here is her before......

mid way.....

From Fenders

To Roll Pan....

Cragars

Re: My 76 fleetside rebuild

wow that is some good progress. I kind of like the original color and trim theme but there is nothing wrong with a black truck. Did you do any upgrades to the motor? That is a stout drive line you got there with the th400 is it a 12bolt rear?

Funny you should bring that up I saw a set on an s10 blazer at the junk yard a few years back. Had that same blue and chrome look going on.

Yeah the guy i bought it from used to be a welder. He hauled one of those huge welder/ generators with a huge v twin Kohler engine then a 20' twin axle trailer behind that with all of his tools and materials..... also when he was off the sued to tow a 26 or 28' camper to florida! the truck is a tank it has heavy duty springs in the rear which i wanna down grade..... an i just remove some of the leafs or will i have to get different ones????

Nope there are no modifications to the engine it is bone stock. i was gonna put my fingers in to the engine but ill leave it alone. as of right now i can go out pump the gas once and it dont even turn over a full turn and its running! the trans is also awesome in every gear there is nearly no hesitation. the previous owner had it serviced at gm only garages and when i mean serviced i mean full serviced. every oil change, greased once a month, trans fluid and filter changed every year, and a coolant flush and change every fall, plugs, wires cap and rotor once a year, fuel filter change twice a year and even the rear end fluid was changed every year! this drive line was taken very good care of! i also have all of the paper work too!

im not too sure if it is 12 bolt or not havn't got in to that yet all i know is that its a 3.07 rear gear.....

thanks everyone its been alot of work geting it this far with just me and my father!

thanks I sure am.... the paint is very bad and needs to be reshot and she needs lower to the ground.....

I love how the roll pan worked out because the rounds on top of the fenders are the same round as the base of the box.

I think im the first to do it at least I have never seen any one else do it before....
