Bedside Question?
I know they are with stepsides, but I need to adjust my bedsides to clear up a gap with the tailgate. Besides the bolts is there also a weld that I have to cut out to get the bedsides to move?
Just at a first glance, It appears that there might be a weld in the area I circled. I figured I would check with you folks before I get done taking out all the bolts and get frustrated that it won't move. Thanks.

Re: Bedside Question?
Yes, there is a welded area back there...and yes it will move in to close that gap. A spot-weld cutter and maybe an air chisel will be helpful.
Usually the hard part of this operation is removing the bolts, rust never sleeps. Also, depending upon how far you have to move, you may need to enlarge the bolt holes (especailly near the back) to get them back in. |

Re: Bedside Question?
Is that a reproduction tail gate? My advice is don't screw with your bed sides. Spend the money finding a tailgate that fits. Those bed sides did not move. They are right. The aftermarket tailgates are known to be incorrect dimensionally, and I have heard that you cannot sit on them without there bending (!) I have four nice OEM gates that I picked up for less than $100 each, two on EBay, so they are still out there. Sorry, I am hanging on to all of them for projects.
