Re: I wanna get high!!!

I`d say Superlift, too.Get ready for a wholotta work*.You may not get bored, but tired of gettin`in and out. It`s a climb up into a 6" lifted truck. What rubber you gonna use?

*1t or larger axles, custom drivesafts and joints, lower gear ratios,I recommend better braking,do you already have crossover steering?,Slip-yoke eliminator...That oughta keep you from being bored for awhile

Get us pictures when you`re done cuz big trucks look cool!

Re: I wanna get high!!!

12 inches looks like lowering springs next to these big dogs...

Screw 44" Boggers... That'll clear 54" Boggers!! with no body lift or cutting. Hah.

Super duty with 54" boggers and 30"

I'm guessing 20s or 22s on 54 inch TSL's. Like that? You're going to love this one...

http://www.customsuspension.com/Gall...umName=albun13

21" of lift, and I'm guessing 52" Michelins. Just out of curiosity... how do you get in that thing?!? Crew cab long boxes have horrible ground clearance issues due to their length. Long and hills don't mix. I think this one solved that problem.

I wonder how Dana 60's feel turning 52, 54" mud killers? Must be about like a D44 turning 37s or 38.5s. Probably near the breaking point.

What are the current specs on your truck other than a 6" lift?
Axles, tire size, drive train...etc?

Is this your driver or is it the hobby truck?

Re: I wanna get high!!!

Buick,Europe, and bush are all words used to insinuate the sound of puking.I went to the website and I`m curious what the qualities of their springs are other than excessive height. There`s no info given other than a picture and price.Couldn`t I just weld some steel to get a rigid lift and save alot of money for tires?

About that Crewcab, wouldn`t it be wise to just start off with a better vehicle choice?I guess you`d get more frame flex to make up for lack of travel from the springs.

hah. Maybe I shouldn't read or post late at night or right after I wake up. Hmm...

They sound like a legit quality spring maker.

Re: I wanna get high!!!

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you know how expensive it is going to run ya to get 12" of lift on a shortbed to be safe on the road? You are going to need a lot of what everyone is saying.
- Lift Kit $500-$1000
-Crossover Steering min. of $200 if pieced together on up
- Bigger Axles
**Dana 60- 1 ton ($800 min.)
** 2.5 ton, might be the way to go for a short bed to lesson driveline angles
- Tires, (used will be atleast $500 min. up to $2000 new)
- Wheels
- Shocks

I am not being rude, I own and have owned big trucks and it just costs a lot to get things that will last paired up to a set of big meats. You would probably be better off upgrading to a 8" lift or so and going from there, but you will still need crossover steering if you don't already have it, and installing 3/4 ton axles. 1/2 axles will never make it though with much over 35" and that's overdoing it.
I definitely feel for you though. It is always hard to stop with a certain lift when you see something bigger. I was born into the 80's monster truck craze, and I have never shaken it. Trevor

Add to that:
-A stronger transmission
-14-bolt
-beefed up driveshafts
-depending on t-case,slip yoke eliminator
-dealing with local authorities?

I like your truck as it is,but that`s me.I`d paint it first while you gather info and/or parts and give it more serious consideration.
I built a mud bog truck that I ran 44s on and used military axles.I forget the total lift, but it was at least 1/2 of that shortbed shown.I never felt the need for more of anything. That thing was a mud churning machine. It won alot of bogs.

No i aint ready to loose it. The 12" lift aint a forsure thing, its more of a maybe one day thing. I'll probally lift it a lil bit more. Maybe after I paint it I'll not want to change anything. Thanks for all the advice though everybody I appreciate it.

Re: I wanna get high!!!

Good to hear, at least your aware of how much adding that lift will change any or all practical usage of your truck.

Completing phase one and going on from there sounds like a plan.
