opinions wanted for new project

Just picked up a new truck today (pics to come tomorrow) its a 1974 Chevy stepside C10 with a 350 and a swapped in muncie car 4-speed. After freshening her up I am contemplating a look and want opinions. I am thinking of going old-school and wondered how new is too new for the flat black with pinstripes look. I am thinking a 2/4 drop and I have a set of these rims that I will run. Whattaya think???

Re: opinions wanted for new project

We have a couple square bodies running around our area that are flat black. They look really good.

Re: opinions wanted for new project

Not if the original paint is any good. I like patina better, but my 77 had way
too many colors not to cover it up.

I was the only rat rod in the area, but now there's a few, even an 80s van.
This rat rod style is kinda overdone now, but it still gets attention better than anything.
The 77 is about to get shiny paint, but I'll miss the flat black and pinstripe.
This Mazda will make me a good replacement if the owner will sell it.
(Yeah I know, I need a camera that works)
