my interior is done but the back seat???
Does it bolt into the floor or am i suppose to get under there and hold a wrench on a nut? is the floor threaded? the interior guys couldnt get it back in very well so I didnt get to see how they took it out? they look like pointed bolts so i am leading torwards the floor being threaded but any help woulld be great.
Also I got a stock console. same question are there holes already there and do i need specific bolts or does it just get screwed to the floor? Thanks guys |

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
Their should be a a metal plate under the bed with 4 nuts welded to it for the 4 back bolts about 4 feet long the metal plate is held up with 2 screws from the top. Their should be 2 nuts welded to the bottom of the bed for the 2 hold down brackets in the front.

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
If you're truck didn't come with a rear seat from the factory, it may not have the threaded inserts & support for a rear seat. Here's a pick of the rear brackets. Some have 4 across the back with the seat belts bolted to them, some only have two with the inboard mounted seat belts bolted directly to the floor. I don't have any pics of the front brackets, but there were some for sale on the parts board the other day.

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
If I recall correctly, the console is held down with screws just into the sheet metal. I believe there are 4 screws total and two of them screw into the "ridge" in the floor plan.

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
Here are the bracket that hold the front legs of the rear seat to the floor.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=331606 The threaded holes for the seat belt mounts are a different size than the threaded holes for the outside brackets. The seat belt mounts also use a special bolt so the belt mounts can pivot.

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
Pull up the carpet/mat... mine had die cut plugs (sheet metal) over the holes. I have to assume that my back seat was never coreectly installed. The pieces pull up, cleaned the undercoating out of them and cleaned the threads with a tap. I suspect all tubs are stamped and prepped for a back seat.

This is the only picture I have that shows the mounting points. I'm not sure where I got this picture.

Re: my interior is done but the back seat???
When I put my rear floor in my jimmy the holes in the new floor were in a differant spots so I couldnt use the metal plate that was on the floor of my jimmy I had to use the one that came with the new floor and move the brackets on the seat to line up with the new floor. I dont think my extra one will line up with yours unless you drill new holes and weld new nuts on it.
