Talking Rear shock relocation kits

These are the only ones i have found for our trucks is this a good price for them? or can i buy them cheaper else where? who else sells them?

also LMC has an adjustable tracking bar for $99 any body know where i can get a cheaper one also?

Thanks got some extra money coming on this pay check that the old lady dont know about and rent is paid so i get to buy new toys for my truck

CPP & ECE both sell something similar @ comparable prices.

But, if you have tools & a little time, you can get the same thing for free. If you can fabricate a little bit, you can use the stock brackets & modify them to do the exact same thing.

The upper brackets require re-drilling the shock bolt hole as high up on the bracket as possible. Once that's done, you'll need to trim away the excess metal so it won't hit the shock body. The lower brackets get flipped from side-to-side. They'll need to be 'worked' (a vise & BFH or hot-wrench work well) & slightly clearanced to allow them to be tightened flush.

Relocating the upper shock bolt hole nets about another 1.5" of shock travel. Flipping the lower mounts nets about the same (the shock bolt now hangs below the bottom of the trailing arm ~2" vs. above the bottom of the trailing arm).

With my 70 SWB, I used a axle mount clamp-on panhard bar bracket from a roundy round car off of eBay for about 14.00 with shipping. It clamps around the axle shaft and sticks rearward about 6 inches. They are all over eBay, but can be bought new from racing suppliers for 25 bucks on up. I went with a Competition Engineering panhard bar, also off eBay for another 15 bucks. The length was about perfect at 33 some inches, heim joints at both ends. Swedge wedge tubing can also be gotten in every length needed ready for heims very cheap. I enjoy all the vendors wares, but for triple even quadriple the price, I will try it cheap first. Gives me something to do. Thanks, hope this helped a little. This is my first post or reply.

SCOTI i got under the truck today and look at the shock mounts going by what you said it looks simple enough to do but do they mount in the same spot? or do you have to move them?

The 'modified' OE brackets mount in the exact same locations they were removed from. The relocation description comes from the fact that the upper & lower OE shock eye-bolt 'locations' are different (they're extended). I'm pretty sure I was able to get about 1.5" on the each bracket mod (upper & lower).

any one have pics of there trucks with a rear shock locators ? and if im only using a 3inchblock with and a 2inch drop coil is it necssary to use them?

Lowering blocks do not impact the shock length requirements on trailing arm trucks because the location of the upper & lower shock eyes don't change. Dropped springs do impact the shock length req's but typically there's no need for adjustment w/only a 2" drop spring.
