Wheel Spacer ??
I searched (and read the results) but did not seem to come up with good info for our trucks. My question is this: Those of you running wheel spacers with stock rally wheels to clear 3" drop spindles, how thick a spacer are you running? I finally got my new tires mounted and went to bolt the wheels back up and set the truck down to realized they are rubbing slightly. I think a 1/4" will probably work but what are you guys running?

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
Most guys just trim the lip on the LCA to clear.
You will probably need about a 1/2" spacer if that is the route you want to go. Keep in mind, the track width is already narrower in the back compared to the front...if you add spacers to the front, it will only make it more noticable...unless you are running wider or diff offset rear wheels.

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
Eventually I will be able afford some 20s and go wider in the back to fix the track width. But for now I am trying to figure out the best way to go about driving on my rallys without spending a bunch of money. You guys think grinding a little away is good enough to do or is it just worth spending a few bucks for the spacers? I worry about sacrificing strength when removing metal around crucial mount points.

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
My 73 was ground down to fit 15" wheels, been that way for years.

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
Ok, so I assume you ground some, test fit, ground some, test fit...
Like I said, I just worry about taking metal from crucial suspension points. Which is silly I know since cutting a frame, chopping tops, channeling bodies, etc. doesn't bother me.

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
i thought there was only up to a 3 in. Drop spindle available for our trucks but i may be wrong. I had to trim a little bit at the top of the spindle on my truck to fit 15in. Wheels too and is been good for almost a year now.

Re: Wheel Spacer ??
I found theses at The Super Chevy Show for 200 dollars so i got a deal. It was the first time i never saw them. I had to cut that lip off the finder-well after tho because it was cutting into my tires
