Cab floor replacement opinions?

Need to replace the outside edge of my cab floor, along with all the cab braces underneath. Just wondering people's opinion on replacing the entire floor at once with the replacement panel from LMC or GMC Paul's, or whether to do the outside patch panels and the cab braces individually?

I'm leaning to the entire cab floor approach just so I know I have good metal all the way under me, and don't have to deal with welding the braces in.

Let me know your experiences, and if you were to do it over, whether you would have done things differently.

A few people on the board have done this. I've seen the pictures and it is not an easy job. If you can weld at all, piecing together the panels you need would probably be easier and less expensive. msgross I think has done it, you can check his threads out.

Its alot easier to replace the outer sections and braces then doing the whole floor. We do floors and rust repair in all vehicles not just trucks. Send some pics. In my opinion if you have to do the whole entire floor you may want to question wether you should even use the cab at all. How is the rest of the truck? It is not an easy job and it takes alot of time,space and equip to do it CORRECT. If you are looking to do a Show truck I would replace it. We sell the floors also but I would find a place to go pick one up. Their are many companies selling the floors.

I did the entire floor since the rest of my cab was in decent shape. It requires a lot less welding than replacing all the pieces individually but you better brace it up, and then brace it some more. If you find all the spot welds you only have about 40 holding that floor in. I separated it at the floorpan seam and the back wall...

If the rest of the cab has issues then I would just spend the money on a nicer cab.
