Re: sucks geting ....
Search for threads on adjusting the TV "kick down" cable.
It should downshift at 55 Start looking for a Vortec 5.7 our of a 96-99 Chevy 1500 truck, Suburban, Tahoe. You can convert it to carb with a cheap Prof Products intake. Don't feel too bad, the ricer guys spend tons of cash making those tiny engines produce power. I think it's funny how those perf parts companys are getting 4 times the price for tuner car parts compaired to traditional GM, Ford or Mopar parts. |

Re: lost the race....
if you were trying to race a pick up with a 305... then there are few imports you could beat.
If you were doing it on the street, as you kinda indicated, then I hope you get busted and your stuff gets impounded. |

It would be mo better if you had explaned how street racing is dangerous, insted of condemning him like that. You might have messed up an opportunity to educate him because he is prolly offended now. |

Re: lost the race....
Now that's a funny picture.
It won't make those guys stop, just more anger for the police. The big citys don't like dragstrips, and usally have them shut down for stupid reasons like gambling, so until that changes, there will be street racing whether you like it or not. Dallas was smart and has opened or allowed a privately owned strip to open downtown. We need to educate the teenagers. Last edited by redneckgirl; 06-03-2009 at 02:08 PM. Reason: political |

Re: lost the race....
FYI; the TV cable (assuming it is a 700R4) is a very important part to have adjusted properly. too tight and you break stuff. too loose and it will burn up.

Re: lost the race....
I'ma gonna toss my 2 cents in, Longhornman is dead on if you street race I hope you get your junk impounded, he doesn't need anyone to tell him it is ignorant to street race unless he has been under a rock, people get killed all the time, innocent people, so sorry if we don't sugar coat it for ya, STREET RACING IS DUMB, deduct from that what I think of folks that street race.
Have I done it? You'll never know, have I seen people die, yes, right in front of me in Tucson at the "Illegals" as it was called back in the day, is it dumb, you bet! Last edited by 70rs/ss; 06-03-2009 at 01:49 PM. |

idk who u are your at a redlight someone pulls next to u and wants to race. i very rarely go over the speedlimit, and you all out there now that u do it. we all know its not safe, just like drinking and driving. sh%t happens and when i do race my truck i got moroso(now pbir)10mins from my house allso its not a 700r4 (wish it was) its a th350 and going 55 mph around 2300rpm i dont think it would down shift?

Re: lost the race....
I wouldn't go so far as to say that drinking and driving is "stuff happening". Street racing and especially drinking and driving are 100% preventable provided you're a responsible, contributing member of society that isn't using their own head to provide a free prostate check. And for what it's worth, I don't street race or drink and drive, and those that do deserve to be kicked in their junk prior to it being impounded.
