wheels are hard to turn when jakced up....is it okay to keep driving?
when i was gettin my truck aligned this morning guy said the wheel was pretty hard to turn...they get a lil hot too....
ive gotta new frontend pretty much, (rotors pads bearins balljoints tierod ends etc) with only like maybe 100 miles on them....is this normal?? my bearings and castle nut aint tightened down too much there good....bearings are good n greased up.... is this normal thanks!

What you are saying is that the wheels, as mounted on the truck, have some resistance when you try to rotate them on the axle, right? Disc brakes, compared to drum brakes, supposedly are designed to maintain a minute amount of clearance between the pad and the rotor. Residual amounts of pressure in the brake lines to the front brakes could make the wheel ass'y harder to rotate. That would be because the brakes have not retracted fully. So, they would naturally heat up.

Don't know, just know that it is possible. There are people on here who are much more knowledgeable than I am. You might also check on the other general forums and see what shakes over there. You may find a thread that answers your question.

All of mine turn with whatever effort is required to move the weight of the rally's. |

I have heard that heat that is generated in certain circumstances can make the brake fluid heat to the boiling point. That would not be a good thing. Now, is it possible that you may experience that? Don't know. Depends on what is causing the drag. But heat will be the result of the friction. How much of it transfers is not within my scope of knowledge.

ok just thought of somethigng!!!!
on my brake lines, i had like10" of extra slack so just make a big n <----(hard brakeline), could there be fluid in there not going back in because it cant make it up that steep hill in the line???

Drum brake wheels on a Disc brake setup?
Don't know if this can apply to 5x5 trucks, but it can in GM cars. |

Check to make sure that the rubber brakes hoses to the calipers are not kinked or twisted. I twisted one once and it acted like a one way check valve, letting fluid flow into the caliper but not back out. It dragged badly and caused my rotor to overheat. Also, see if you have the same problem with the caliper off the rotor. If no more dragging, then you know its the caliper. If still have dragging, the nut on the spindle is too tight. Back it off 1/4 or 1/2 turn. Also, make sure the wheel or tire is not rubbing on something.
