I hate all of you!!!! j/k!

No, but really..I hate you all....O.k....I'm just kidding. Maybe......

Seriously though, I'm in the process of finding body parts for my truck build, and once that's done I was planning on starting with the frame and building my way up. Just when I think I've got my frame ideas down pat with doing a C-notch, Disc break front/rear conversion and static drop 4/6 now I'm looking into a air suspension! Why must you torment me with all of your finished projects and work in progress builds! The main issue is, I have zero experience in rebuilding trucks and am on my own. I have been using this board as my be all end all Idiots guide to rebuilding your old 67-72 chevy truck. So, how difficult is using an air ride set up? Which is the best way to do it? Buy a complete kit, parts as you go. What is the best way to set up. Guides to read? Or, should I just play it novice and be glad that I'm going to be able to rebuild a pretty stock truck build and wait till my 2nd build to get fancy? Or do it right the first time?

Oh, and did I mention...I hate you you all

I think I would keep it simple for the first try and go with the staic drop, you can always upgrade to air later when you are more confident. If you do want to tackle it now, just search around on here, there are plenty of examples to look at and builds to see how it is done. You could also start by just bagging the rear (very simple and straight forward to do)

Either way, enjoy it and keep us updated. We love pics!!

Re: I hate all of you!!!! j/k!

I agree with the above if you want to drive it soon. I had a 4/6 static and now am in the process of building a whole other truck so I am in the line of looking at everyone elses projects but remember they were there too. I haven't drove my truck since july last year so I need to get my fix SOON but its alot of work and I still have to do all the dirty work SANDING, then I can move onto the frame doing disc all around and bags. Check my build thread and look at the dates... It takes awhile.

how about a fresh glass of Hater-ade?

seriously though getting down is an addiction much like tattoos. Once you go a little bit low you are always looking to go lower. If you seriously plan on driving it sooner rather than later do yourself a favor and set a realistic goal and STICK TO IT! my burb was only going to get a mild drop and freshened up. 5years and at least $5k in suspension and it is still no where near going for a drive.

Re: I hate all of you!!!! j/k!

I think I'd keep it simple the first go around.

I had my 72 GMC for 11 years. Finally at that point I was ready to perform the second "restoration" of it. As it turned out though, there were too many things that I wanted to change, so I sold it to pay for a portion of my 68. On the 68 I'm doing it all.

I learned TONS working on my 72 though.
