shocks for my lowerd 79 k5

i so far have only lowered the front, and the stock shocks are bottomed out, stopping it from going any lower. i have 3 inch lower springs in the front and a 5 inch flip kit in the rear but with 2 inch lower shackles to make it only 3 inches lowering in the rear. what shocks do i need? im trying to find what vehicle had about 3 inch lower shocks stock that will fit because i dont have alot of money, or if there is a place that builds them just for this, for kinda cheap, thanks, John.

John,

What I would do is take your stock shock to an auto parts place and see if they have anything shorter. This may save you some money, BellTech has them but your looking at $45 and up for them.

No personal experience with them but when researching for my '06 I read nothing but bad about the Toxic shocks.

I have heard a lot of good things about these though.

Do you mean lifting shackles?
Any info on these?

I would like to lower my K5 but the flip is more than I want.
I was going to do like Travis did (later K5/1500 rear springs) with a flip to achieve 2-3" but am curious about what you are planning to use.

Re: shocks for my lowerd 79 k5

honestly im not sure kevin, i traded my chopper to a friend for the kit, i will ask him exactly what it is.

and now im starting to think that the shocks might not be bottomed out, but it seems to only have been 1-2 inch lowering so im not sure. could there be anything else stopping it from going lower?
