et street issue
When I put my et streets on I had them balanced, but since then I've been to the track afew times. It seems as if my rims are spinning inside the tires. I only have a mild 350 with a 262 comp cam, 600 holley, afr heads, headers, and some other goodies 4.56 posi, tci street fighter, 3000 to 3500 stall. Truck runs 8.70's in the 8th with the engine craping out on the topend. (cam&carb) Besides rim screws is thier a simple fix. I also was thinking it could be a rim issue it has eagle alloys on it with low pressure I think around 15 psi. oldno7

Re: et street issue
Mark the tire and rim and be sure it is slipping. Is it dead hooking off the line? Maybe they used too much lube on the install, but be 100% sure it is slipping first then yeah rim screws are kinda it I guess, maybe more psi???

Re: et street issue
If you find out it's slipping for sure, they make a glue that helps keeps the bead stuck to the rim. M/T recommends this stuff on their ET Street Radials instead of rim screws......can't remember what it's called. I'll see if I can find it.

Re: et street issue
The glue sounds like a good fix. I will try to check into that also.

Re: et street issue
WHat kind of 60' times are you getting? Most guys around here that run tubeless wipe the inside of the tire / slick with "joy" dish soap (full strength) and assemble. It helps with those weeping leaks, and (they had to prove it to me) but it helps glue the tire to the rim when it dries. Might try that. I run screws in everything because I run TUBES in everything, but thats another story.

Re: et street issue
60ft times are not what I would like they are usually around 1.9. Varies some because I'm always playing with tire pres. These should improve some with the bigger cam & carb.

Re: et street issue
One VERY important fact we need to know . Are these ET Streets a radial or not . If they are radials don't screw them .

Re: et street issue
These are just et streets, and not the et street radials

Re: et street issue
Mark a mark on the tire and rim at the same place and see if they slip, if not don't worry. The joy works seen it, but I'd guess MT has something "special" if you want to pay for that vs dishsoap?

Re: et street issue
Found it.....The glue to use is Permatex Hy Tack. It's a dark red glue that comes in a can and has a dauber to put it on. You can get it at most Auto supply stores.

Re: et street issue
I used 3M 77 adhesive on my drag radials . The standard yellow stuff from the spray can . The red permatex works better . I ran ET streets when the rules were DOT tire and just ran screws . It went to drag radial pretty quick . Heard bad storys about beads seperating from the tire on screwed radials .
