pics of th350 intall?

I am switching out my 3 on the tree for a th350. Does anyone have any pics or tech on how to install the th350?

I'm going to be a couple weeks before I can go pick mine up, but will be doing the same. I hope to glean some infor from LilRed (Tony) when I buy the trans and column from him as he just completed one for a customer. I don't know about the tech part, but I will take lots of pics.

I just finished one for Mark N. from this site. I installed a factory 3-speed Turbo Hydramatic. I used all factory-correct equipment, including tranny, crossmember, column, brake pedal assembly and shifter linkage. We wanted it to be as true to original, as possible, so we used all original equipment. I also swapped out the factory high hump tranny cover and front cover for a factory low hump tranny cover and front cover. I also had a new one piece drive shaft built, to eliminate the carrier bearing and two-piece drive shaft.

I did take several pictures, however they don't chronicle the process, just show the progress, at various stages. If you need some technical advice or guidance, I would be glad to help you through the process.

Since I am purchasing most of the parts just mentioned from Tony to do the same, he and I are going to have lots of conversations in the coming weeks about the install. I'll try to post as many pics as I can!

they are from a BMW e36 Motormounts but i changed it in normal mounts , pic´s are coming.......... because the clearence to the Cab the mounts from the BMW are to high!

because if your th350 must removed , you´re gonna be remove your frontclip and possibly lift your Cab !

my fault was that i didn´t cuted it out and i hope the th350 works very well!!

1. How do you hook up an aftermarket transmission cooler?
2. How do you hook up a kickdown cable? Is it easy?
Do I have to use all hard lines and make my own?

On the tranny cooler, you can use barbed pipe fittings and run hose from your lines to the cooler. Get lines rated for trans fluid...parts store can look up the correct stuff. You can bend hard line if you want. You will need to go from flare to pipe fitting at the cooler. Most run thru the radiator and then to the extra cooler and back to the trans. I dont remember the way to tell the flow from the trans...on a 350 or 400 it has to do with which port is higher.......eg. ''the top outlet is to the trans'' (this is an example and may be wrong)

Kickdown is usually a hard metal rod; hooks to the throttle linkage on the carb and mechanically shifts the trans when you press the gas pedal. I've never messed with an aftermarket set-up. As you can imagine, it needs some adjustment so as to shift when you need it....dont remember how, its been too long since I had one

I did a 350/350 install yesterday and some of this info may help you.
After market trans cooler...I got a cooler large enough that I don't have to worry about over heating the tranny. I'm not using the radiator trans cooler at all. But saying that I also got a thermostat [trans] that fit in the cooler lines that make sure that the trans gets up to operating temp and doesn't run too cool that can give harsh shifts.
Kickdown cable is still to be figured out as to how and where to mount the kickdown linkage bracket on the intake manifold.
As far as hard lines...I bought 1970 TH350 lines and will cut to fit in the thermostat and then to the trans cooler.
BTW this is a 63 1/2 ton that I'm working on.
