keep 10 bolt or go 12

When I get ready to upgrade my rear end should I keep the 10 bolt or should I go to the 12 bolt? I like the look of my "pumpkin" and really... there is not a hugh benefit to swapping... what do yal think?

You need two tools in life: duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, you use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, you use WD-40.

Well the 12 bolt is suppose to be a stronger/better rear end, comparable to the ford nine inch... If you got one layin around or are gettin it for free then sure go for it, its the better rear end. If your gonna buy one and arnt lookin to do anything more than daily "spirited" driving then the 10 bolt should be fine, especially if you like the looks better

I believe you will have more gear and posi/locker options with a 12 bolt as compared to your 10 bolt.

Re: keep 10 bolt or go 12

SINCE I HAVE A 62 , I LIKE THE PUMPKIN ALSO .. BUT NO CHOICE OF GEARS ... I'M GONNA USE A REAREND OUT OF A SUBURBAN SINCE I WANNA KEEP THE 6 LUG WHEELS , THE BRAKE PARTS WILL BE CHEAPER , LARGER SELECTION OF GEAR RATIOS , FINDING ONE WITH A POSI AND MAYBE 3:73 OR LOWER GEARS IS PROBABLY EASIER ... I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT IN AND HAVE THE MOUNTS CUT OFF AND MINE OR SIMULAR , MOUNTED BACK ON AND ANGLE SET WITH INSTALL .. JUST AN IDEA ..
