remanufactured "tab" on the side of my block?
yesterday after i took the 454 and tranny out of my blazer i saw a little tab that looked like it was stamped on to the block, it said remanufactured . does this mean the engine could have been rebuilt?

Yep, thats what it means. Most reman companies will tag their blocks, heads, etc so they know who did them.

ok cool, i didnt see anything else on the tab. ill take a closer look though. i doubt theres any way of knowing how long ago it was done, is there?

Only if ..... they had a ID number stamped on that block & if they are still in business .... you could contact them & if they kept accurite records they might be able to give you some detailed info on the rebuild...
