67-72 with oldsmobile engine
I want to put a olds engine in a 67-72 I was wondering if any one has done this and what they did for mounts the other thing i was worried about is exhaust clearance.

When I had the truck shop we had one with an olds in it. The mounts will work using the clam shell mounts. I am not sure what position the mounts are put in. you would need to measure the clearance front and rear. Everything else should fit.

Starter is on the drivers side, so you need to replace the positive battery wire with a very long one.
Your transmission will not bolt up. You have to have a BOP case or a universal case. Use this as an excuse to get a 2004r. These already come as a universal case mount, plus the lower overdrive.

i would recomend getting an aux battery tray to replace the stock one instead of a real long cable wrapped around the engine.
There's plenty of room under the hood of these trucks,you can fit anything you want in there. |

juassic when you say clam shell do you refer to the 72 bb mount? I do have a bop turbo 400 but I will need to rebuild it I like the 200r4 Idea I am allready one in my 87 442.Where do I find the aux tray for the drivers side?

Also you,ll need 3.08 gears. The olds doesnt like hi-rpm,s

if you were a site supporter you could do a parts wanted thread in the parts section... you could browse the parts for sale area and see if anyone has one for sale... there was some talk about them not long ago.
