Thatīs cool!
What does such a beauty cost?
Is it new or just a clean used one?

Re: my new play thing..

Rod- Did you have to buy new? Do you have emission laws that won't allow take out motors over there?

Volker- Same question? What's it like in Germany?

Re: my new play thing..

we can use any motor as long as its not older than the car its going in, i didnt have to buy new, and i could have picked up a wrecked commodore for bout the same as what i would pay for just the motor and gearbox which is around $5700.
and that nice new motor up there is now in pieces, getting the reluctor wheel changed to an ls1 part coz im running ls1 computer, cams getting changed same with the lifters and a rear sump. i have a corvette front belt drive setup for it with nice new alternator and ps pump and the electric throttle body will be changed to a cable operated setup too.
the t56 should be here in a few weeks, its being rebuilt and strengthend at the moment and a front shift kit installed, and that will be conected via a twin plate clutch that just came off an LS9 crate motor (see general discussion ).

Re: my new play thing..

Thanks. I find it interesting to know what countries have different laws than the USA.

I saw your post on the LS9. Do you think you could swap him and he might not notice....

Re: my new play thing..

It's my understanding that the flywheel bolt pattern on the LS9 is unique to that motor......meaning you can't just bolt the LS9 flywheel/clutch kit to any LS crankshaft. Have you looked into this at all?

Re: my new play thing..

yeah, its one thing we do have to be sure of and check, if it comes down to it i might get a custom made flywheel to join the two.
