Re: NArrower rearend

I remember look at the flange numbers for a 72 Axle and a 96 Impala axle and the Impala being 2-3" bigger. But I think a earlier 67-69? Is a bit shorter but only a few inches. But don't quote me on that I could be wrong.....

We narrow the rear end housings at my work & use Dutchman
Motorsports steetable custom alloy race axles. Total cost should be around $500 - $600, depending on what it cost you the have the housing narrowed.

Re: NArrower rearend

You can find the 65 - 69 12 bolt rears at a junk yard.

I picked one up for about 150 then bought dutchman 5x5 axels for 300 from ECE.

The flange to flange width is 56.5. They are 1.5 inches narrower that the 70.5-72 12bolts.

Becareful not to buy the wrong one! I had to buy two.

I believe the 2nd gen camaro axles are close to those dimensions. Since your going to have to buy axles, you could have set built or redrill those for 5x5.
