Will a '73 and up rear end fit into my '72

I hate to ask such an easy question, but I did a search and must not be putting in the right words to find out what I need to know. What I am doing is converting my '72 Blazer to a 2WD. I have planned to switch my rear end to a 5 bolt trailing arm rear end, but I need to know if one from a '73 and up will fit, or what modifications would need to be done to make it work. I know my stuff when it comes to the 4X4 , but this venture into the 2WD world is new to me.

The 73 rear end is wider than the 72 2wd rear end, 1 3/8" wider wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. More than likely not a problem, depending on the offset of the wheels you run.

You'll need to add trailing arm saddles and plan for a Panhard bar mount somewhere (OEM has a loop cast into the 3rd member but there are plenty of aftermarket options) unless you're going leaf spring.

If you go with the trailing arms in the rear I'd watts link it before I'd panhard bar it.

Unnecessary complication, IMO.
