Lift kit from 73-87 on a 69-72
Hey guys
I searched and didn't find much on this topic. I know the 73-87 front spings are a little bit longer. I was wondering if you modify the shackles if you could use a lift from the 73-87 on a 69-72 truck ? Thanks in advance |

Re: Lift kit from 73-87 on a 69-72
I tried to put 73+ front springs in my 67' K10 and they were quite a bit longer (2" or more, I didnt measure) and I think that the axle would have been too far rearward because of the longer spring and where the centering pin is located. I think that the 67-68' front springs are different than 69-72' though. Hope this helps, Im sure others will respond as well.

you can use 73+ springs, with modification. my dads using a set of 4" springs on his 70 and plans to get longer shackles and maybe modify the front hanger. otherwise the bolted right in but have maxed out the rear shackle on the front springs.

Thanks for the input guys. I will check them out for sure. A guy locally has a 6 inch kit for the 73-87 with rear blocks and add a leaf's for cheap so was thinking about getting it.

why not do a shackle flip in the rear?
and i believe diy has a b52 kit that uses 52" strings up front but ive seen it used for 73+ front springs also. |

Check out the Tuff Country web site, they have from 2" to 6" springs. Maybe a little pricey but it's bolt on. No mods.

Did some research on this awhile back and found you will need to use a longer shackle and a zero rate front spring do recenter the wheels. Not sure about the diy4x but that would be sweet.
