whining noise
I just put in a 338stroker, it makes a whining noise that gets louder when Im coasting and slowly goes away as I accelarate, Im wondering if the converter is to tight and I need a higher stall, Its got a th350 with stock stall

Your description of the whining makes me think rear axle ring & pinion, noisy coast and quieter under load. Also maybe a planetary gearset in the trans??
I'd have to hear it to really say. Does it change with RPM or MPH? Is it present in all 3 speeds?

ya it does change with rpm, just put new gears in but it did it before the new gears, it sound like its right under the floorboard,

Maybe your inspection cover on the transmission might be rubbing on the flex plate?

Is it at the rear of the truck or at front? Could be Alternator ?

Ive checked out the trans cover but I havent checked the alt. , I gotta work today but I will look into the alt tommorow, but Im pretty sure its comming from the front of the tranny, I appreciate the help, keep the responsed comming

I thought I had the same problem,but the whining stopped and now she`s in Florida...
I`d think you`d definitely want a higher stall.I`ve heard what you describe and think it is in the converter.
