Anyone know antyhing about limited slip?
I am looking for information on rebuilding the limited slip in my 85 chevy truck. It has an axle code of KXA wich is a "3.07 locking" differential. The limited slip part is not working as good as it used to and I am wanting to replace the clutches in the rear end.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |

I'm with Ocbaud....I don't recall them being rebuildable......i've heard good things about a Detriot locker and also Eaton has good posi's...either are pricey tho.....but from what i understand...the detroit locker doesn't wear out because the teeth lock....no clutches to burn up......anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

Some are rebuildable, I asked this question to a local driveline shop quite some time ago...but I can't remember the specifics...
I THINK it depended if they had steel or aluminum plates or something like that. I know this doesn't help much...but I do know "NO" is not the completely right answer. -Jeff |
