extracting glove box liner
Can you give me any tips or tricks? After the door comes off and all the screws are out how do you get the big thing out of the small hole?
Oh, and thanks in advance. Even the stupid questions I've asked have been answered by you guys! (and gals?) |

Re: extracting glove box liner
If you can't push it in and down, you just have to get a bit violent with it and push in the center areas of the sides and work it out through the opening.
It goes back in the same way. That's at least how I've done it in the past... |

If it is an AC truck it is a pain in the A**! Work around the edges until it is all inside the opening and then pull one side out first. It goes in a lot easier than it came out!
Good luck |

Take your time and you will get it. I tore mine a little getting it out and put some duck tape on the backside before re installing and you can't tell. The good news is you can get reproduction ones from most of the venders fairly inexpensive.

Re: extracting glove box liner
Spend the 15 bucks and get a new one. They're just cardboard anyways, and 40 year old cardboard isn't as good as new cardboard.

Re: extracting glove box liner
If you don't have air (like me) you can just slip it under the dash, work it up to the hole and it pops right in without any damage. If you have air, my condolences.

Re: extracting glove box liner
I replaced both of mine (in A/C trucks) Here is how I did it:
Step 1: Cuss and yell, and rip the old one out. Step 2: Buy a new one for about $10 and install it.
