60/40 bench seat?
So I have a 80 chevy reg cab with the stock bench seat but I am looking at putting in a bench with flip down console from a 93 chevy. wondering if it would work or if anyone else has done this? or what i would need to do to make it work?

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
It has been done, but the seat is physically narrower than the 73-87 version.

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
Now by narrower, your talkin door to door right? and is there any other seat or seats that might work because I love the bench but would love a flip down arm rest/ console, That or if there is a way to make a center flip down seat when using two bucket seats?

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
Dodge trucks like the old Lil' Red Express truck had buckets with a flip down "buddy seat" in the center. Could always run buckets out of a van if you want an armrest.

Ya a buddy of mine is into all things dodge and told me there are options there, but i would like to keep it bow tie, I thought about the seats out of a van but really like being able to fit 3-4 people in the truck!

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
My seat is in great shape, was thinking of getting the foam kit from LMC, and the console from there will cost me $100 by the time I get it, I could go to canadian tire though and pick one up for $20.

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
There is a post somewhere about putting a '73-'77 malibu/ El Camino seat in. I think the brackets need to be switched or something? It is a split bench with a fold down armrest and headrests. The look similar to this

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
It should work just fine, you will just have more room between the seat and the door panel. Though I don't know if it will sit up any higher or lower than the older ones due to the floor board heights.

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
Would a bench out of an 80s/90s Station Wagon work? Seems to me it could but don't know.

Re: 60/40 bench seat?
I have a 60/40 slit bench from a 93 tahoe in my 77. I just made a 1 piece frame out of square tubing to keep the seat straight and to retain the 60/40 function while using the original holes in the floor. The floors are different and the newer seat has taller brackets.
