Shifter Help
I have a 56 Chev 1/2 ton with a 3 speed automatic transmission hooked up to a B 7 M quik shifter (obviusly designed for drag racing) What can I replace this with? Can i just go to wreckers and look for something there? Or do I have to order from Lokar etc?
Any help will be appreciated as I would finally like to get it done over winter and on road in spring. |

Re: Shifter Help
Are you going to keep on floor or column. Floor automatics Shifters like *****en or Lokar are linkage type, for stock looking floors style.
B&M ratchet are cable attched gives you possibilitys of raising the shifter and making the a console. I used a mid eighties chevy tilt van no key in column. |

Re: Shifter Help
Sometimes it is easier to buy cheap used Lokar or *****en shifters on Egay, for chevy, ford or other models. Call them directly and buy parts individually, they do sell them I did that on Model A Hotrod I built. Sometimes it is easire than trying to re-invent the wheel and trying to adapt junkyard parts. Good luck on your project.
